The law firm of Adams and Reese is pleased to announce the addition of four bankruptcy lateral attorneys to the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina, office - Partners – Tara E. Nauful and Lindsey C. Livingston; and Special Counsel – William “Bill” H. Short, Jr.

Below are short bios on the attorneys joining Adams and Reese:

Bill Short has been practicing law since 1983, and has more than 30 years of experience with corporate turnarounds and restructurings in corporate bankruptcy law, appearing on behalf of lenders in state, federal and bankruptcy courts in South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, New York and Delaware. Short is a certified specialist by the South Carolina Bar in Bankruptcy/Debtor-Creditor Law. He is ranked among The Best Lawyers in America® (by BL Rankings, LLC) for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law, and Litigation – Bankruptcy. He is also recognized by South Carolina Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights. Short is the past-president and serves on the board of the Carolina Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, and he is a former president of the predecessor to the South Carolina Law Bankruptcy Association

Tara Nauful has maintained a statewide transactions practice for more than 20 years, in addition to a national practice in bankruptcy law, and is a certified specialist in Bankruptcy–Debtor/Creditor Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court. Her clients include many state, national and International lenders. In 2012 and 2013, Nauful was named the “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers® (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Charleston, SC, for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law. The publication also recognized her for Litigation-Bankruptcy; and Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law. She is also listed in South Carolina Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters) for Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights. In 2010, she was named to “Legal Elite of the Midlands” by the Greater Columbia Business Monthly. Nauful is the past president of the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association and is a Past Chair of the Carolinas Chapter of the International Women’s Restructuring and Insolvency Confederation.

Lindsey Livingston has practiced in multiple areas of bankruptcy law since 2004 in federal, state and bankruptcy courts, and is a certified specialist in Bankruptcy–Debtor/Creditor Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court. Livingston was selected among “The Rising Stars” for Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights in Columbia by South Carolina Super Lawyers® (by Thomson Reuters). She serves as the Chair of the Carolinas Chapter of International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation. She teaches Banking Law at The South Carolina Bankers School.
