Adams and Reese attorney Jack Pringle, in the firm’s Columbia office, was interviewed by South Carolina ETV, the state’s public educational broadcasting network, on the topic of company’s processes, policies, and systems reflecting the value of those private information assets.

Most businesses are aware of the need to protect vital information, but Pringle said while there are good reasons to minimize the risks associated with the improper disclosure of personal information, there are also corresponding benefits to designing a company’s processes, policies, and systems to reflect the value of information as an asset.

The television show host was Mike Switzer, who focuses on South Carolina business community news with many business leaders from around the state. South Carolina ETV has 11 television and eight radio transmitters, and a multi-media educational system in more than 2,500 schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies.

At Adams and Reese, Pringle focuses on administrative and regulatory law, information technology, securities, public utilities, environmental law and land use litigation, and class action litigation. He is recognized by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a Certified Circuit Court Mediator. A certified information privacy professional, he advises clients on the retention, collection, management, and production of electronically stored information. He assists clients with information security breach response and provides advice on how to implement processes that prevent and detect breaches.
