Adams and Reese attorney James Moffett has been named to the Greater New Orleans, Inc. NextGen Council (NGC) for a two-year term. The NGC, composed of the “next generation” of business and community leaders in the region, is an initiative designed to introduce new leadership into GNO, Inc. and develop the future leaders of Greater New Orleans.

The NGC functions as a sounding board and advisor for GNO, Inc. initiatives, and on an as-needed basis, helps to drive projects within the GNO, Inc. business plan.  The NGC also promotes partnerships between GNO, Inc. and the region’s business and community organizations, and helps tell the story of the “Greater New Orleans’ Renaissance” to the world.

Members also work to drive business development across six core sectors – energy, trade, advanced manufacturing, digital, medical and emerging environmental (as well as a new focus on military) – while maintaining our product development focus on workforce, policy, capital, brand and ecosystem development issues.

At Adams and Reese, Moffett is an Associate in the firm’s New Orleans office and a member of the Transactions Practice Group. Practicing law since 2009, he focuses his practice on public finance law, economic development and governmental relations, in which he assists local governments, political subdivisions, and private companies access the capital markets through the execution of Tax Exempt and Taxable Bond transactions, as well as New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) transactions.

Prior to joining Adams and Reese, Moffett was an economic developer, focusing on the attraction and retention of private sector companies throughout the southeastern region of Louisiana, and led job creation efforts within advanced manufacturing, energy, international trade, digital media, biosciences, and emerging environmental industries.
