Adams and Reese Partner William D. “Bill” Shea has been appointed to the Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) Board of Directors. Shea also serves as General Counsel for BRAC through the 2016 term.

“It’s an honor to serve on the Baton Rouge Area Chamber’s Board of Directors and as legal counsel,” Shea said. “I look forward to working with fellow board members to achieve BRAC’s key strategic goals and continually enhance our region’s business climate and workforce development.”

BRAC is a nonprofit, investor-driven organization with 1,500 member businesses, civic organizations, education institutions and individuals. Its mission is to lead economic development in the nine-parish Baton Rouge metropolitan area. BRAC serves as the voice of the Baton Rouge area business community, providing knowledge, access, services and advocacy.

At Adams and Reese, Shea is a partner and member of both the Commercial Disputes and Casualty and Coverage Practice Teams. He also serves as Partner in Charge of the firm’s Baton Rouge office. Shea focuses his practice on serving commercial clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract and lease disputes, claims for breach of fiduciary duty and general business disputes. He also maintains an insurance regulatory practice, handling licensing and compliance issues with the Louisiana Department of Insurance and other regulating agencies.

Elsewhere in the Baton Rouge area community, Shea previously served on the Board of Directors of the Baton Rouge Symphony and the Country Club of Louisiana. He is a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church. Shea is ranked among Louisiana Rising Stars® in Business Litigation and is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Louisiana, a leadership program facilitated by Council for a Better Louisiana.
