Adams and Reese Partner and Real Estate Team Leader David Bernstein moderated a panel, “A Meeting of the Minds,” as real estate executives from across the state of Florida discussed today’s real estate industry in front of about 160 Tampa Bay area real estate professionals at the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club, held May 22nd. The event was produced by the University of Florida Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies and also sponsored by Adams and Reese.

Joining the panel were Chris Eastman, Chief Development Officer of Echelon; Skipper Peek, Vice President of Tavistock Development; Rick Baker, former Mayor of St. Petersburg and current President of The Edwards Group, Steve Hagenbuckle, Principal of TerraCap Management; and Ron Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer of The Sembler Company. Attendees took away a discussion about how real estate deals are getting accomplished in today’s environment and how each panelist’s firm is positioned to excel going forward.

At Adams and Reese, Bernstein concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, banking, finance and development. He has extensive experience in site acquisitions, regulated real estate development and sales, local and multi-state portfolios, local and multi-state credit facilities, acquisition and development financing, project financing, the assemblage and repositioning of commercial real estate and complex loan documentation.

Bernstein is a frequent lecturer and author on topics related to cooperatives, manufactured housing communities and land use changes and regularly conducts seminars on real estate acquisition, development, leasing, legal compliance and residential cooperatives to commercial property owners, management companies, lending institutions, homeowner’s associations and members of the Florida Bar Association. In 1994 he also authored the lender training manual on the legal requirements, documentation and underwriting for cooperative lending for Florida’s then largest banking institution (Barnett Bank of Florida) and was the featured presenter for the Bank’s advanced commercial real estate lending conferences held for Senior Lenders and Credit Officers in Tampa and Orlando.
