Adams and Reese New Orleans office associate Billy Wright has been named a Fellow in the 2017-2018 Loyola University Institute of Politics (IOP) class, a leadership training seminar aimed at giving participants a complete education in civic and political engagement.

The IOP revolves around a series of lectures, discussions and projects that traverse the spectrum of practical political and civic interests. It attracts guest lecturers of local and national prominence, whose fields of expertise include campaign strategy, organization, financing, polling, public relations, lobbying, community grass root organizations and media.

IOP fellows are given the opportunity for extended dialogue with elected officials, political management consultants, media experts, social scientists and other professionals whose work has given them insight into the political process. The seminars also provide thorough discussion and debate among the fellows on the political issues of the day.

Wright joined Adams and Reese in 2015 in the litigation practice group. A native of the Crescent City, he is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and New Orleans Bar Association. He is a volunteer attorney for the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and a volunteer legal counsel for the Fr. Harry Thompson Center, while also serving as the New Orleans Area Alumni Association of Pi Kappa Alpha’s president.

A double cum laude graduate of Louisiana State University, Wright completed his B.S. in business administration with Honors College distinction in 2012 and his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2015. Prior to his current position at Adams and Reese, he was a summer associate with the firm in 2014, clerked for a Baton Rouge firm in the commercial and real estate litigation fields, and interned for both the Hon. Kurt D. Engelhardt in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and in the Litigation Department for the New Orleans City Attorney.
