Jacksonville attorney Caroline Prieto led the charge for Adams and Reese to support “Mutt March” one of two annual fundraisers put on by the Jacksonville Humane Society.  It is a dog walk and festival that took place on March 7, and the event raised more than $100,000, which will provide service (food, shelter, medical treatment, and adoption/placement) to the more than 6,000 dogs and cats that JHS helps every year.

Caroline, who chairs their young professionals group “Pawfessionals” and does pro bono legal work for JHS, was one of the top 10 individual fundraisers, raising $650. Her efforts were aided by donations from 11 Adams and Reese employees from the Jacksonville office. Caroline was also interviewed on Channel 12 news to help promote Mutt March.

As a breakdown from the fundraising, $10 provides a blanket to keep puppies and kittens warm; $25 provides vaccinations for one cat; $50 provides spay/neuter surgery for one puppy; $100 provides x-rays for an injured cat or dog; $250 provides heartworm treatment for one heartworm positive dog; $500 provides food, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgeries for 15 kittens in JHS’s neonatal unit

Jacksonville achieved no-kill status this year supported by the efforts of the Jacksonville Humane Society.  It is the biggest city in the world to have achieved no-kill status.
