(St. Petersburg, FL, October 8, 2015) - V. James "Jim" Dickson, a partner at the law firm of Adams and Reese has been elected President of the Community Law Program, Inc. (CLP) for 2015-2016. Dickson has been involved with CLP in helping to provide access to justice and civil legal services to low-income and disadvantaged individuals since its formation in 1989.

CLP is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 1989 by members of the St. Petersburg Bar Association. It provides a variety of free legal services for low-income residents throughout Pinellas County, Florida and pro bono representation services as well as legal advice clinics. Some of the special projects of CLP include their Transitioning Dependent Youth Project, Community Counsel Program, and Self-Help Center.

Dickson has been practicing law since 1978 and is Board Certified in Construction Law by The Florida Bar. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Stetson University School of Law where he teaches a course in environmental law. His practice focuses on construction law, environmental law and commercial business advice. Dickson received his J.D., cum laude, from Indiana University in 1977, and his B.A. with honors, from Indiana University in 1972.

An active member of the bar and the community, Dickson has been a recipient of the Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award, St. Petersburg Bar Pro Bono Award, National Association for Community Leadership, Distinguished Leadership Award and the Leadership St. Petersburg Alumni Association Leadership Award. He currently also serves as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce.

Community Law Program is a primary source of legal aid services in St. Petersburg for a wide variety of civil matters through our Pro Bono Legal Representation Panel of dedicated volunteer attorneys from the St Petersburg/Pinellas County area.
