Adams and Reese Partner and Banking and Finance Team Leader Charles Parrott has been appointed to serve as Chairman of the Bank Attorneys’ Committee for the Mississippi Bankers Association, serving a one-year term expiring mid-year in 2015.

The Mississippi Bankers Association, established in 1889, is a private membership organization that brings together and represents banks and savings institutions in the State of Mississippi.

The MBA provides education through seminars and conferences, information through various avenues such as The Mississippi Banker magazine, and representation in legislative and regulatory matters.

Parrott has served as the Adams and Reese Banking and Finance Team Leader since 2004, and he was recently named Best Lawyers® Lawyer of the Year (by BL Rankings, LLC) in Jackson in Banking and Finance.

Parrott has more than 30 years of banking law experience and oversees the development of all aspects of the firm’s banking practice, including recruitment, and the firm’s relationship with major banking and financial services clients. For 18 years, he was Assistant General Counsel and Senior Vice President for the former Deposit Guaranty Corporation/Deposit Guaranty National Bank in Jackson (now Regions Bank).  In 2009, he became a charter member of the Regions Bank Client Service Team, taking over as Team Leader on behalf of Adams and Reese.

Parrott is a trained mediator and has taught banking law through the Mississippi College School of Law.
