The Adams and Reese Sarasota office recently held Dress Down Jeans Days for attorneys and staff to raise money for both the Child Protection Center of Sarasota and the Van Wezel Foundation.

Checks were delivered by Sarasota regional office manager Shawn Duvall to Doug Staley, Executive Director of the CPC, and Monica Van Buskirk, President and CEO, of the Van Wezel Foundation.

Voted nonprofit of the year by the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, the CPC works together with the Department of Children and Families and Law Enforcement in the investigation of child abuse cases and also coordinates community-wide services for affected children.

Established in 1987, the Van Wezel Foundation is a charitable nonprofit that has directed millions of dollars in support of the Van Wezel Hall's capital improvements, programs and ongoing educational efforts. The Foundation helps enrich lives of members of the Gulf Coast community, with an emphasis on children, through the performing arts while supporting the needs of the Van Wezel - the region’s premier performing arts hall.

Both organizations are members of the Adams and Reese employee volunteer program, HUGS (Hope, Understanding, Giving, and Support), which was founded in 1988 and has since devoted financial resources and thousands of volunteer hours to offer assistance to those in need. Every year throughout Adams and Reese’s regional footprint, employees donate time, money and supplies to more than 200 community organizations in need.
