The Adams and Reese Sarasota office, through a firm-wide “Back to School HUGS Initiative,” collected school supplies and backpacks for students in need at Visible Men Academy, a local tuition-free public charter school in Bradenton that serves students in Manatee and Sarasota County.

The Adams and Reese Sarasota Partners provided a financial match for the donations of staff members, creating an additional fund to purchase a large assortment of additional supplies for both students and teachers, everything from pencils and paper to school uniforms (10 sets) for students, and from pens and highlighters to cough drops and tea for teachers.

“It is important for our firm to lead a back to school drive for the young men at Visible Men Academy; a collection of supplies to help the school meet the students’ needs is vital for the charter school’s mission to deliver that educational experience that every student deserves,” said Jason Gaskill, Adams and Reese Sarasota Office Partner in Charge.

Visible Men Academy’s current enrollment is 125, focusing on male students, from kindergarten through fourth grade. VMA is committed to delivering a high-quality educational experience that meets the specific needs of elementary and middle school aged boys through the collaborative efforts of administrators, teachers, parents, the broader community, and the students themselves.

The Adams and Reese employee volunteer program, also known as HUGS (Hope, Understanding, Giving and Support), helps more than 200 organizations firm-wide and donates thousands of hours and untold dollars to offer communities “hands on” activities and assistance to those less fortunate. Whether in the form of special events or participation in agency-sponsored fundraisers, Adams and Reese employees and attorneys are known throughout the region and the nation for their community action.
