Seven Adams and Reese attorneys were selected South Carolina Super Lawyers and Rising Stars (by Thomson Reuters) for 2014, included in the South Carolina Super Lawyers magazine, published in April.

Only five percent of attorneys in South Carolina receive the honor of Super Lawyer. The selection process includes peer nominations, review by a blue-ribbon panel and independent research. Rising Stars are lawyers who are 40 or under, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The Adams and Reese South Carolina Super Lawyers include: John Beach (Business Litigation, Estate & Trust Litigation, Administrative Law), Earl Ellis (Workers’ Compensation, Alternative Dispute Resolution), Ernie Lawhorne (Workers’ Compensation), Bill McElveen Jr. (Real Estate, Banking), Tara Nauful (Bankruptcy) and Bill Short (Bankruptcy, Litigation and Banking. Lindsey Livingston (Bankruptcy) was named among the South Carolina Rising Stars.

Candidates for selection are evaluated based on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including verdicts, settlements, transactions, representative clients, experience, honors and awards, special licenses and certifications, position within law firm, bar and/or other professional activity, pro bono and community service, scholarly lectures and writings, education and employment background and other outstanding achievements.
