Adams and Reese Partner Henry C. “Hank” Shelton, Commercial Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Leader, has been elected a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to 4,000 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.

Shelton will be inducted at the 2015 Spring Conference & Celebration of Fellows on April 15-17 at The Resort at Pelican Hill, in Newport Beach, California.

Shelton joins other LCA Fellows from Adams and Reese, including Mark Beebe, Bill Brabec, Lee Butler, Alex Cosculluela, Billy Gaudet, Robert Eckinger, Leslie Lanusse, Don Massey, and Patty McMurray.

Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation. The LCA is aggressively diverse in its composition. Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership. The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, allowing qualifications, diversity and inclusion to align effectively, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar. Fellows are generally at the partner or shareholder level, or are independent practitioners with recognized experience and accomplishment. In addition, the LCA is dedicated to promoting superior advocacy, professionalism and ethical standards among its Fellows.

Shelton joined Adams and Reese in 2006 as one of the founding partners in the Memphis office. An experienced trial lawyer, Shelton focuses on business litigation and bankruptcy as well as workouts and reorganizations. He has written and taught extensively on bankruptcy and commercial litigation matters and mentors new lawyers. He has tried cases in Federal and state courts in the Mid-South, and handled appellate cases before the United States Courts of Appeal for the 5th, 6th and 8th Circuits and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas bars and a Life Member of the Judicial Conference of the Sixth Circuit.
