A. Patrick Dungan joined Adams and Reese in 2016 as an Associate in the firm’s Special Business Services Practice Group in the Mobile office. Most of his current practice is devoted to municipal law, government relations, economic development, and contract drafting. Prior to joining Adams and Reese, Patrick gained wide ranging experience in business litigation, civil litigation, premises liability, personal injury, products liability, transportation, insurance defense, subrogation, immigration, and tax matters. He has represented over 100 clients before the IRS and state taxing agencies and provided legal counsel to multiple Fortune 500 companies.

Patrick’s other legal experience includes:

  • Served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Roderick P. Stout of the Mobile County Circuit Court.
  • Served as a student law clerk for South Carolina Legal Services, an IOLTA-funded nonprofit firm providing free legal services to low-income residents of South Carolina.
  • Admitted to practice in the State of Alabama, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

In the community, Patrick serves on the Board of Directors of the University of South Alabama National Alumni Association, for which he is the current Vice President and Finance Committee Chair. He also serves on the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute Development Council and devotes time to coaching youth soccer.

Patrick earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. As a law student, he served as Peer Review Editor of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal and was a member of the Student Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity. He was recognized on the President’s List as well as the Dean’s List and served as a peer mentor.

Patrick received his B.A. in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of South Alabama. As an undergraduate, he was active in the Student Government Association as a Senator and Chief Justice. He served as Alumni Relations Chair of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and remains a lifetime member of the University of South Alabama National Alumni Association. As a student, he was recognized multiple times among President’s List and Dean’s List honorees.

In his spare time, Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife Laurie, family, and friends. He also enjoys coaching youth soccer, watching soccer, co-owning and operating an elite amateur soccer club, going to concerts, and supporting the South Alabama Jaguars.
