Jason Mueller was featured in the “Emerging Leaders” profile in the May 2012 BioDistrict New Orleans newsletter. Emerging Leaders are individuals who are working to advance the development of the bioscience industry into job creation and economic growth within the city of New Orleans.
Mueller is actively involved with the BioDistrict and the bioscience community throughout the State of Louisiana, assisting universities and private entities, including technology start-ups, in obtaining and exploiting intellectual property rights in the biotechnology and life science areas, including prosecution of patent applications, license negotiations and related counseling. He has also managed patent portfolios for major international medical device companies. In Louisiana, Adams and Reese acts as General Counsel for the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium and the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.
At Adams and Reese, Mueller’s practice is concentrated in intellectual property and technology, providing counseling to clients regarding patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
The Greater New Orleans Biosciences Economic Development District (GNOBEDD), now referred to as BioDistrict New Orleans, is a state-enabled economic development district that was created by the state of Louisiana in 2005 and charged with the responsibility of growing both the programmatic and physical development components of the biosciences sector of the New Orleans economy. The 1,500-acre district spans the downtown and Mid-City areas of New Orleans, bounded by Earhart Boulevard, Carrollton Avenue, Loyola Avenue and Iberville Street.
