Richard Malchon has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, which for more than 40 years has provided temporary assistance to those requiring help with basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, limited financial assistance, and referral information.
The Free Clinic’s programs include the Free Clinic Food Bank, Free Clinic We Help Services, Free Clinic Health Center, Free Clinic Women’s Residence, and Free Clinic Beacon House.
At Adams and Reese, Malchon is a Partner in the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group and also a member of the firm’s Claims Counsel Committee and Ethics Committee. Practicing law since 1974, he has engaged in a general commercial litigation practice with a focus on the representation of lenders in real estate, construction and asset based loan workouts and creditors in all aspects of Chapter 11 reorganizations and complex Chapter 7 liquidations together with general creditor rights matters.
Malchon has lectured to and written for numerous professional and client groups in the areas of loan workouts, lender liability, bankruptcy and creditors' rights. He has been recognized among “Tampa Bay’s Top Lawyers” by
Tampa Bay Magazine.
In the professional community, Malchon is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and a member of the Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar, Hillsborough County Bar and the St. Petersburg Bar Associations.
