Bernard Booth IV joined Adams and Reese in 2007 and is a Partner in the Special Business Services Group. He focuses his practice on energy and natural resources, energy related litigation and mass tort litigation.

 

Prior to entering the private practice of law, Bernard served as an attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps in the United States Navy where he served as a Legal Advisor to the United Nations and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Bernard earned his J.D., cum laude in 2000 from the University of Mississippi School of Law.

 

His other significant contributions include:

 

  • Member of the trial team that successfully defended Chevron Phillips Chemical Company against an asbestos exposure lawsuit in Mississippi.
  • Co-authoring a published law journal article, “Lignite Coal:  A ‘Mineral’ Under Mississippi Law?” Mississippi College Law Review.
  • Being licensed in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi to serve the needs of energy clients throughout the Gulf.

 

Bernard has been admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Mississippi and Louisiana, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He is a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Jackson Young Lawyers Association

 

Bernard lists Theodore Roosevelt as someone he admires and in his time away from the office enjoys traveling, reading and hunting.
