Blake Hale Hardwich

Blake Hale Hardwich joined Adams and Reese in 2016 as Special Counsel in the Special Business Services Practice Group following her service as Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration for Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley. A dynamic attorney, Blake brings a broad range of public and private sector experience to the firm, developed both inside and outside the legal field. She focuses her law practice in government relations, economic development and litigation.

Previously, Blake served for two years as Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration for Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley. In this role, she advised on legislative matters, public policy initiatives, strategic planning efforts and administrative initiatives. Prior to her government role, Blake served as Director of The Alabama Prosperity Project, a joint venture of trade association Manufacture Alabama and the Washington, D.C.-based Business-Industry Political Action Committee, or BIPAC, to encourage business and employee participation in the public policy process. She also previously served as Director of External Affairs for Manufacture Alabama.

Blake’s significant accomplishments include:

  • Representing prominent industry sectors and corporations before regulatory bodies
  • Building grassroots coalitions at the local, state and federal level
  • Directing campaigns for legislative action, constitutional referendums and for state and federal candidates
  • Drafting legislation in furtherance of client objectives
  • Serves as Executive Director of the Energy Institute of Alabama, a nonprofit that promotes reliable, affordable, and clean energy to help grow Alabama's economy, create high-paying jobs, and build public support for Alabama’s energy industry.

Blake earned her J.D. from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law. During her time as a law student, she was selected to the Order of the Barristers and was active on the Moot Court Board.

She earned a B.A. in Political Science from Auburn University. As an undergraduate, she was active in the Auburn Student Government Association, served as Senator-At-Large as well as a member of the President’s Cabinet, and volunteered as a campaign manager for SGA colleagues.

In her spare time, Blake enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s various sports, theatre and recreational events. She also enjoys running, reading and Auburn football.
