Bradley “Brad” Waters joined Adams and Reese in 2001 with the Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on defending personal injury matters and handling commercial litigation matters for both plaintiffs and defendants. Much of his case experience has involved defending negligence and premises liability suits against refineries and oilfield operators and contractors. He also represents general contractors and subcontractors in lien and collection matters.
Starting at the firm as an Associate, Brad has quickly risen through the ranks to Partner, and is dedicated to ensuring that the Litigation team in Houston is continually developing skills for the benefit of clients. Brad has been named among the Texas Rising Stars in both Civil Litigation Defense and Business Litigation. Texas Rising Stars is a distinction given by Texas Super Lawyers to represent the top outstanding young lawyers in the state who are 40 or younger, or in practice for 10 years or less.
His other significant contributions include:
- First Chair defense of a breach of contract dispute in unfavorable venue that was successfully resolved through arbitration and vindicated the client and several employees named in the suit.
- Defending products liability, premises liability, maritime, oilfield, and toxic tort claims, breach of contract, insurance and other commercial disputes, including obtaining pre-trial dismissals and favorable post-trial judgments in unfavorable venues.
- Securing contractual defense and indemnity and additional insured coverage in cases involving significant personal injuries and death, saving clients significant amounts in fees and expenses.
- Frequent consulting and drafting of contractual agreements and presentations on defense and indemnity and additional insured coverage disputes and strategies.
Brad is a big sports fan, but spends much of his free time with his wife and two young daughters. He credits his parents for his strong work ethic, attention to detail and core values.
