We assign each of our summer associates two attorneys, an Associate and a Partner, to help guide you through the course of the summer with us. Below is an overview of the role that your Mentor and Advisor will play during your six week clerkship.
Mentors
The Mentor Program is designed to help your transition into our working environment. Your mentor is a relatively new associate, someone who has not forgotten what it was like to be in your position. He or she will be available to answer questions and help address the concerns that invariably arise in new situations. Your mentor will also be instrumental in guiding you to produce your best work.
Advisors
The Advisor Program is one of the most important aspects of the overall Summer Associate Program. Your assigned Advisor is a partner with the firm. He or she will review and evaluate each written project you complete during the summer. You are encouraged to enlist the assistance of your advisor if you are having difficulty with a project or legal concept; if you are interested in observing a particular legal activity and have been unable to do so; or if there is someone within the firm to whom you would like to be introduced.
