David Bowsher, in the firm’s Birmingham office, has joined the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama Roundtable, which gives young civic and business leaders the opportunity to study issues and government policy in Alabama in conjunction with the research conducted by the Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, located at Samford University.
There are quarterly meetings for roundtable members and two annual breakfast symposiums for the community at large to discuss topics integral to improve Alabama’s state and local governments.
At Adams and Reese, Bowsher’s practice includes mergers and acquisitions involving troubled companies and on corporate restructuring and bankruptcy issues, as well as other corporate and transactional matters. He also spends time in the firm's DC office on governmental relations matters.
Prior to joining the firm he worked most recently as Acting General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel at the United States Department of Commerce. He also co-led United States engagement with the People’s Republic of China on transparency in government as part of the Strategic Economic Dialogue and led United States participation in the United States-China Legal Exchange as part of the Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade.
