Deborah Oliver joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm’s expansion into Tampa and is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. Practicing as a litigator since 1999, she concentrates on employment law, banking and finance, and general civil and appellate litigation issues.

As an employment law litigator, Deb provides preventative, consultative and proactive advice to employers about problematic labor and employment issues, as well as litigation counsel, from the charging and pre-suit demand stage, through mediation, trial or arbitration and appeal, if necessary. Her experience includes non-compete, unfair trade practices, whistleblower (statutory and regulatory), and federal and state discrimination and wage issues. She guides employers through the myriad of workplace regulations and laws facing all employers, to help them avoid and resolve legal entanglements and achieve positive and cost-effective results.

In her banking and finance practice, Deb aids financial institutions in asset recovery litigation, managing and monitoring the enforcement of loans secured by real estate, accounts receivable, inventory, equipment and other business assets. Deb has also successfully defended numerous lender liability, lender fraud, and banking operations cases.

Deb’s general civil litigation practice includes securities, anti-trust, real estate, and indemnity litigation. She has represented parties in all phases of litigation, including trial, arbitration, and mediation, before administrative agencies, foreign tribunals, and federal, state and local courts. Deb has also argued successfully before the state and federal appeals courts in Florida.

Her admissions and memberships also include:

  • Admitted to practice in Florida, Missouri and Kansas, including the federal district courts in the Southern, Middle, and Northern Districts of Florida, as well as the Eighth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the United States Supreme Court.
  • Member of both the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers.
  • While in law school at the University of Missouri, Kansas City School of Law, she served as Managing Editor of the UMKC Law Review and editorial staff member of the American Bar Association’s National Quarterly Journal on Land Use Law, The Urban Lawyer.

Following law school, she served one term as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Floyd R. Gibson, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
