Giles Perkins

Government Relations

Giles Perkins, whose family has practiced law for generations, serves as a Partner in the Adams and Reese Birmingham office. Giles works at the intersection of government and business. He understands the language of both and shepherds clients through litigation, regulation, public finance, legislation and administrative concerns.

Giles served as Executive Director of the Alabama Democratic Party from 1997 to 1999, and is a former candidate for the Attorney General office in Alabama. Giles has advised elected officials and candidates of every level of American politics.

Giles earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and received his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law where he was President of the Student Body and Chairman of the Honor Council. He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1992.

Giles is active in the Birmingham community as a Founding Member of the Birmingham Zoo, Inc., where he was instrumental in making it the number one tourist attraction in Alabama. He served as President of the Railroad Park Foundation during the construction of the 22 million-dollar green space, park, and amphitheater in downtown Birmingham. Railroad Park won the Urban Land Institute's Open Spaces Award as well as many other accolades. It has transformed downtown Birmingham.

Giles and his wife Hillery have three children, Barton (19), Hugh (18), and Beverly (13). Hillery is the CEO of Ram Tool Construction Supply Co.
