Henry E. Simpson

Henry Simpson joined Adams and Reese in 1960 and now serves as Of Counsel in litigation and as the Team Leader in Banking and Finance. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, having represented clients in more than 200 jury trials.

Henry has represented numerous financial institutions in litigation of all kinds, including but not limited to regulatory, derivative suits, security cases, lender liability, consumer class actions, employment litigation and work-outs.  His primary representative industries include banking, financial and professional services and manufacturing.

His other significant contributions include:

  • Serving the firm's banking, financial, professional and manufacturing clients consistently over many years.
  • Practice success in the areas of securities, banking, broker-dealer, commercial, professional liability, insurance claims and employment contracts law. 
  • Advising clients on corporate governance, directors' & officers' liability, real estate law, and surety matters.
  • Membership in the Business Entities Committee of the Alabama Law Institute, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.

Henry has great interest in history and counts Patrick Cleburne, an Irish immigrant and Confederate Major General who distinguished himself during the Civil War, among his favorite historical figures. He is a trustee of the Civil War Preservation Trust of Washington, DC, formerly the Association of Preservation of Civil War Sites.
