Holly L. McDaniel

Government Affairs Advisor
Government Relations

Holly McDaniel joined Adams and Reese in 2011 in the firm’s Nashville office as a Government Affairs Advisor, working with state legislators, key members of the executive branch and state agencies, as well as other public policy makers to protect and promote her clients’ interests.

Holly’s lobbying practice ranges from complex health care issues, telecommunications, fuel supply distribution to liquor laws and education issues. Dividing the legislative process into manageable and understandable strategic objectives removes the mystery from the process for many clients and allows them to participate in their own issues more productively then they might originally assume.

Her representative experience includes:

  • Routinely lobbying before the Tennessee General Assembly to facilitate client interactions with relevant state agencies.
  • Serving as former Director of Legislation for the TennCare Bureau during an extended period of reform efforts. TennCare is the State of Tennessee’s Medicaid program that provides health care for approximately 1.2 million Tennesseans.
  • Successfully lobbying for the enactment of the Hospital Assessment Fee which created an additional billion dollars in funding for Tennessee health care programs.

Holly is a member of the Tennessee Lobbyists Association, and in the community, she is on the board of directors of Brentwood United Methodist Day School.

Holly received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in 2000.

Among the people she admires are today’s politicians. She says the mass of not only media attention, but the complete overload of information, is a challenge for ordinary people and much more so for individuals in a politically charged environment.
