Howard Myles Buell joined the Adams and Reese Nashville office in 2017 as a Government Relations Coordinator with the Government Relations Practice team.

Myles has experience researching, analyzing and coordinating outreach for governmental actions and legislation representation with prospective to impact the client’s intentions, drafting memos for firm lobbyists to inform legislative clients and constituents on lawmakers, congressional and agency actions.

His representative experience includes:

  • Served as a legislative intern for Senator Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge), Chairman of Finance Ways and Means Committee, where he assisted in producing agendas and legislative summaries, researched bills, organized bills and fiscal summaries for committee members.
  • Served as a legislative intern for Representative Bill Dunn (R-Knoxville), Chairman of Calendar and Rules Committee, where he focused on researching and analyzing bills to be presented through the committee.
  • Responded to constituent concerns through mail and handled correspondence in office.
  • Served as a campaign manager for a Mayoral candidate of Hendersonville, Tennessee. As the campaign manager for the candidate, Myles worked on organizing grass root efforts to mobilize voters, organizing mailings and door-to-door campaigns. He also coordinated multiple events, formed coalitions, conducted financial research and community outreach.

In the legal community, Myles has served as Speaker Pro Tempore with fellow interns; Myles helped run mock legislation sessions and oversee meetings for several different legislative bills.

Myles graduated cum laude in May 2016 from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

In his fraternity he was elected as scholarship chair, which required him to organize and schedule study hours for fellow brothers. He was also elected as historian; the responsibilities included taking and organizing photos.

In his spare time, Myles enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, reading, and playing recreational sports.
