James McNamara IV joined Adams and Reese in 2002 and is a Partner practicing in the areas of corporate transactions and commercial litigation as well as growing the real estate, bankruptcy and timber practices of the firm. He also works closely with the paralegal team at Adams and Reese on real estate and title transactions.
Jim was appointed to the Corporations Law Committee of the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Committee on Business Reform. The Committee studies Mississippi’s corporate and business laws in order to make recommendations to the Mississippi Legislature. Some of these recommendations were ultimately drafted into legislation in 2009 and used to reform Mississippi’s corporate laws in order to make them more conducive to corporations.

When Jim is away from the office, he enjoys being involved with community activities and organizations and has his private pilot's license. Jim also enjoys playing golf, tennis, running and spending time outdoors. He is a fan of college football and tries to get to at least a few games each year.
