Kevin Hayes joined Adams and Reese in 2009 and adds strength to the Governmental Relations team as a former legislative staffer and lobbyist. Kevin previously served as General Counsel to Louisiana State Senator Ken Hollis and the Louisiana State Senate Commerce Committee.

He focuses his practice on governmental relations, administrative law and regulatory matters. He has successfully represented professional and trade associations as well as clients in the health care and insurance industries.

Kevin’s significant contributions and honors include:

  • Being elected by his peers as President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association in 2008 after serving as President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary and serving five terms on its Board of Directors.
  • Receiving the 2001 Outstanding Young Lawyer of Louisiana award from the Louisiana State Bar Association.
  • Receiving the 2002 Judge Joseph Keogh Memorial Award from the Baton Rouge Bar Association.

Kevin serves the Louisiana State Bar Association as House of Delegates Liaison to the Board of Governors, member of the House of Delegates, member of the Bar Governance Committee, board liaison to the Public Information Committee and board member of the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education. He is also President of the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists.

He admires his father, who died unexpectedly at the age of 50, for his honesty, integrity, work ethic and no-nonsense attitude. He enjoys politics and shaping policies that impact government. He is also an avid sportsman and enjoys sharing outdoor activities with his wife and children.
