Kim Madison joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into Tampa. She has practiced law since 2003 and is an associate in the firm's Litigation Practice Group.
Kim was recognized among the Who’s Who: Leading African American Attorneys in major corporate law firms by The Power Broker Who's Who Tampa Bay 2009.
Kim's litigation practice is concentrated in the defense of financial institutions and collection professionals, contested foreclosures, and general commercial litigation. Additionally, a significant portion of her practice includes serving as a member of the product liability defense team for a major tobacco company.
Kim's representative experience includes:
- Representing developers and big-box retailers in different areas ranging from municipal special exceptions, variances, rezonings and land use plan amendments to the approval of large-scale projects.
- Representing clients in quasi-judicial land use and zoning hearings before County commissions, city councils, hearing officers, and planning and zoning boards, with some specialization in alcoholic beverages zoning local approvals and state licensing.
- Experience in commercial litigation and governmental contracts and procurement, including MBE/DBE certifications and application process.
In the community, Kim serves as Treasurer for the George Edgecomb Bar Association; on the Human Relations Board for Hillsborough County; and on the Board of Directors for DELTA, Inc. She also serves as an appointed member of the Leadership Council for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. She is the first recipient of the firm's HUGs Volunteer of the Year Award in the firm's Tampa office.
Kim stayed in Florida for her education, earning her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2002, and her B.A. from the University of Florida in 1999.
