Laura S. Bauman joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into Sarasota. She has been practicing law since 2005 with experience in civil litigation and an emphasis on real property litigation involving contract disputes, title defects, and lien foreclosures. Her clients include real estate developers, commercial financial institutions, contractors, and homeowner and condominium associations.
Laura has a background in commercial and residential real estate transactional work, allowing her to better understand the events that may have led to clients’ current disputes.
Her significant contributions include:
Prosecuting and defending claims by and against property owners and mortgage holders to clear and protect title and lien priority.
Pursuing collection actions for homeowner and community associations, including by lien foreclosure.
Prosecuting contested foreclosure actions for lending institutions, with cases often involving claims arising out of the Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.
Representing property owners and contractors in construction disputes.
Laura is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar.
She is active in her community, serving as a board member for the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota County. The coalition provides awareness and assistance to community families and employers regarding the importance of early childhood education.
Laura is a native of the Sarasota area and received her B.A. from Florida State University in 2001 and J.D. from Florida State University in 2004.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two-year-old daughter, running and yoga, and is an avid football fan.
