Lindsey Oswalt joined Adams and Reese in 2010 in the Jackson office as an Associate on the Litigation Practice Team.

Lindsey was formerly appointed as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Leslie Southwick in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, where she was exposed to a variety of legal matters involving both federal and state law.

She is currently an adjunct professor of appellate advocacy at the Mississippi College School of Law, where she assists second-year law students with research and composition of an appellate brief in preparation for oral arguments.

Lindsey's other representative attributes include:

  • Former intern for the Mississippi Center for Justice Affordable Housing Division, where she assisted Katrina victims with contractor fraud, rental assistance, development grants, formaldehyde poisoning, and title issues.
  • Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review at Mississippi College School of Law, where she also won several awards in state and national appellate advocacy competitions and was a member of the Moot Court Board and the National Order of Barristers.
  • Captain of the speech and debate team and debater of the year at Mississippi College, where she was runner-up in the International Public Debate Association National Championship.

In the community, Lindsey volunteers with moot court teams at Mississippi College School of Law in order to stay current on today's challenging legal issues. She also is involved at her church, singing on the worship team and leading a small group of 11th grade girls.

In 2006, Lindsey traveled to Jordan where she was a volunteer English teacher to children in a local refugee camp and surrounding villages, teaching classes in lecture and conversational formats.

Among the people Lindsey admires the most are her parents, who set the standard for her in education, seeking post-graduate degrees in their respective fields and also teaching her the importance of respect, self-sufficiency, and generosity. From a professional perspective, her law school professor Jeffrey Jackson was a key influence, providing thoughtful advice and fostering her ambition to clerk for a federal judge.

As the child of a music professor, Lindsey developed an early affinity for music of all types. In her spare time, she enjoys kickboxing, spending time outdoors and traveling, including a college semester abroad in London and Western Europe.
