Louis M. Ursini III joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into Florida. He has been practicing law since 2000 and spent the first 10 years of his practice in Sarasota, Florida but in 2010 transferred his base practice out of the firm’s Tampa office. Louis concentrates his practice in the defense of financial institutions and collection professionals, contested foreclosures, general commercial litigation, real estate litigation, probate and trust litigation, and construction litigation.

Louis has considerable experience in representing financial institutions in the areas of depositor's claims of forgeries, embezzlement, wrongful dishonor, and violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Billing Act Truth in Lending Act and Florida Consumer Collection Practices Act.

His other representative experience includes:

  • Spoken at numerous engagements relating to consumer law and creditors remedies, and has been published in the Bay Area Business Magazine.
  • Statewide practice geographically representing clients from the Florida panhandle to Miami in both state and federal courts.
  • In his practice of defense of consumer claims, he manages client’s litigation matters with a business minded approach to cost efficient resolutions with a focus on developing defensive strategies to consumer claims that minimize the high cost of legal representation.
  • Closely monitors the developing trends of consumer claims in order to provide preventative representation and consultation to his clients.

Louis is admitted to practice in the United States Middle District Court of Florida and the United States Southern District Court of Florida.

He received his J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2000. At Stetson College of Law, he was a member of the Moot Court Team, a charter member of the Business Law Society, and research assistant. He also clerked with the Second District Court of Appeals. He received his M.B.A. from Stetson University in 2000; a B.S. with honors from the University of South Florida in 1996; and studied at the Universita per Stranieri in Perugia, Italy.

While in Sarasota, Louis was an executive board member of the Sarasota County Bar Association (SCBA), past president of the Young Lawyers Division of the SCBA, Chair of the Diversity Committee of the SCBA fostering diversity in the Sarasota community and exposing underprivileged youths to the possibility of a career in the legal profession. For the past five years, Louis was also an elected member and now appointed member of the Young Lawyers Board of Governors for the Florida Bar Association which represents over 20,000 young lawyers in the State of Florida. He was an executive board member of the Sarasota Builders Association, member of the Sarasota Coalition of Inclusion and Diversity, and recipient of the Gulf Coast Business Review’s "40 under 40" award. In addition, he has served on multiple committees for the Sarasota Chapter of The United Way.

The most influential person in Louis' life is his father, who continuously stressed the importance of family, loyalty, integrity, hard work and the drive towards excellence.
