Margot L. K. Want

Margot Want joined Adams and Reese in 2010 in the New Orleans office as an Associate in the Litigation Practice Team.

She is a former law clerk to The Honorable Martin L.C. Feldman in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, where she researched and drafted bench memoranda for motions before the Court on state and federal issues. She also served as an extern for The Honorable Helen G. Berrigan in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, in 2007.

Margot's other representative experience includes:

  • Conducting legal research and hearing preparation as law clerk to Judge Feldman for cases like the Hornbeck Offshore challenge to the administration's drilling moratorium and the Dixey v. Allstate case concerning whether the civil procedure article suspending prescription against a putative class member to a class action applies to a contractual limitations period in the case of Hurricane Katrina insurance policies.
  • Serving as Senior Managing Editor of the Tulane Law Review.
  • Graduating summa cum laude at Tulane Law School and receiving the John Minor Wisdom Award and the David L. Herman Award for Excellence in Obligations.

Margot's interests include traveling, especially internationally; she is proficient in the Dutch language and familiar with French and Chinese. She previously worked at the Hess Educational Organization in Hsinchu, Taiwan, as a head native speaking teacher, conducting English classes for students and working with Taiwanese co-teachers to create classroom management systems. She also studied a semester abroad in the Netherlands at Universitei Leiden.

In her spare time, Margot likes sailing and hiking, spending time with her beagle Hendrix, and eating good food.
