Matt Dowd joined Adams and Reese in 2015 and is a Partner in the firm’s Jackson office. Practicing law since 2005, he focuses his practice on products liability defense, in particular, silica defense, and also commercial and insurance litigation, personal injury, mass torts, premises liability, construction, and other general litigation. Matt has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in a variety of areas, including several complex product liability cases.

Matt’s representative experience and legal accolades include:

  • Serving on the national trial counsel team for an industry-leading safety product manufacturing company.
  • Obtaining summary judgment on behalf of two manufacturers of the generic form of a drug alleged to have caused a neurological disorder.
  • Serving as local counsel for a pain pump manufacturer in a matter in which a plaintiff alleged injury due to the articular administration of pain medications.

Matt earned his J.D. from University of Mississippi, in 2005, and he received his B.S.B.A. from Millsaps College, in 2001.

In the community, Matt is a former Board member of the Phoenix Club of Jackson, an organization benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi, and currently serves on the Executive Board as Secretary for the Epilepsy Foundation of Mississippi.

Among the people Matt admires most are his parents for their unconditional support, instilling their values in him, leading him in the right direction, and giving him many of the opportunities that have helped him to achieve personal and professional success.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their three children, and he also enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, tennis, and being an active member of Madison Heights Church in Madison, Mississippi.
