Mindi C. Robinson

Mindi Robinson joined Adams and Reese in 2010 and serves as Special Counsel on the Banking Practice Team. She has practiced law since 1996, focused primarily on consumer finance litigation and the representation of mortgage loan originators, servicers, and investors in litigation throughout the Southeast.

Mindi, a former Partner at Slaten & O'Connor in Montgomery, Ala., has extensive experience representing banks and mortgage loan originators, servicers, and investors in litigation arising under the Truth In Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act, and RICO, as well as claims based on state fair lending, collection and deceptive trade practice laws.

Mindi has represented clients in complex consumer finance litigation matters in state and federal courts, bankruptcy adversary proceedings, and before federal and state regulatory agencies, throughout the Southeast. She participates often in financial services industry groups, which monitor the evolving regulatory framework impacting today's mortgage and banking clients.     

Mindi also has experience in complex and class action litigation; title insurance coverage and litigation; toxic tort and construction defect litigation and insurance coverage analysis.

Her additional representative experience includes:

  • Representation of loan investors and servicers in litigation challenging loan securitization and servicing practices, asserting challenges to trustee standing, and challenges to the standing and practices of Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc.
  • Representation of lenders and servicers in administrative proceedings, including defense of actions before HUD and state Commissions on Equal Opportunity alleging discriminatory lending and loan servicing practices.
  • Representation of mortgage and banking clients in loss recovery litigation, concentrating on repurchase litigation, and on the investigation and litigation of loan origination fraud, and recovery against parties to mortgage fraud schemes including settlement agents, brokers, borrowers, and appraisers.    

Mindi is admitted to practice in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.

In the professional business community, Mindi is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, Mortgage Bankers Association of Alabama, MBA Litigation Task Force and the MBA Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Committee. She also belongs to the Defense Research Institute and Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.

Among the people Mindi admires the most are her parents, who taught her to achieve success through dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm, and the importance of maintaining integrity in personal and professions relationships, including clients, peers, and even opponents.

In her spare time, Mindi enjoys traveling and reading.
