Governor Jindal Appoints Rodi to the Crime Victims Reparation Board

Adams and Reese attorneys and staff celebrated 20 years of community service on Wednesday, June 12, 2008 with the anniversary of its corporate philanthropy program HUGS. Appropriately named to represent the Hope, Understanding, Giving and Support it encourages, the program was founded in June 1988 to promote social responsibility among attorneys and staff at the firm. On February 11th, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans affirmed the U.S. District Court’s decision to give the MCSD full unitary status, ruling the district “has done all that it could to remedy the (prior) segregation caused by official action” and had “to the extent practicable, eliminated the vestiges of racial discrimination resulting from the former racially dual system,” according to the opinion released by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Joan Anderson v. School Board of Madison County.

On March 28, 2006, the Louisiana Court of Appeal, Fifth Circuit, reversed an $88.75 million judgment against electrical-products manufacturer Thomas & Betts Corp. Adams and Reese Appellate Team attorneys Louis C. LaCour Jr. and Raymond P. Ward successfully prosecuted the appeal on behalf of Adams and Reese client T&B.
