Class Action and Complex Litigation
Experience Counts:
Over two-thirds of all recent class actions filed in state courts against Fortune 500 companies were commenced in just five states: Alabama, California, Louisiana, Ohio and Texas. With offices in three of these states, Adams and Reese represents more class action defendants than many much larger firms. Adams and Reese has a long history of involvement in class and mass actions in state and federal court at the trial and appellate level, including the Castano v. American Tobacco Co., a watershed class action decision in the Fifth Circuit. Adams and Reese attorneys have successfully defeated class certification in state and federal court and have tried large class actions to successful conclusions.
Many class and mass actions can threaten a company or an industry. In these "bet the company" situations, some of the most important decisions are made at the very outset of the case. Adams and Reese has the experience and the resources to hit the ground running, from crafting removal strategies and negotiating joint defense agreements to navigating public relations concerns and conducting preliminary jury research. For each client, we amass a team of lawyers with the experience and ability to meet the specific needs of the case.
