At Adams and Reese we believe in giving back to the communities where we work and live. Our firm's pro bono policy requires that every lawyer in the firm annually perform a minimum of 20 hours of pro bono work. In the last two years combined, Adams and Reese attorneys have performed a total of 12,000 pro bono hours and the firm was ranked No. 142 in American Lawyer rankings of the Top 200 pro bono firms in the country.
Adams and Reese has a Pro Bono Liaison Partner who chairs the firm's pro bono committee comprised of partners representing each of the firm’s offices. These attorneys are selected because of their undying dedication to public service, specifically pro bono law. Our attorneys have handled a diverse scope of pro bono litigation, including divorce and custody matters, nonprofit applications and setting up 501 (c)(3) organizations, setting up a fund service for war veterans and manning a pro bono clinic telephone hotline. The firm provides volunteer attorneys for Volunteer Lawyers Programs, including Saturday Legal Advice Clinics and Drive-time Clinics; Wills for Heroes; the annual Will-A-Thon, sponsored by the Houston Bar Association’s Elder Law Committee; and last minute wills and estate planning matters. Additionally, the firm accepts court-appointed pro bono matters.
Some of the organizations included in the firm’s pro bono work are: National Appleseed, SaveOneSoldier.org, Alabama Appleseed, Birmingham Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program, Child Advocacy Center, Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program/Houston Bar Foundation, Louisiana Appleseed, Memphis Area Legal Services, Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Program, and the New Orleans Pro Bono Project.
Adams and Reese pro bono awards and recognitions are due to our attorneys' dedication to public service and pro bono work.
