Johnny L. Domiano, Jr.



Johnny Domiano, Jr. joined Adams and Reese in 1995 as a Summer Clerk and was hired a year later to support the firm’s litigation practice in New Orleans. Since then, Johnny has developed extensive pre-trial resolution success and expanded firm experience in many areas of the law, including commercial litigation, antitrust litigation and advice, D&O liability, securities litigation, franchise disputes, shareholder disputes, insurance and business interruption coverage, energy and maritime matters, products liability, general casualty and toxic tort.


Johnny represents clients in the oil and maritime industries in defense of personal injury, death and property damage claims, including experience in negotiation and litigation of master service agreements, operating agreements, maritime and commercial contracts.


Within the firm, Johnny has also assisted in unifying hiring practices and procedures across all 14 offices as the former Liaison Partner in charge of recruiting. He adds client value by providing industry-specific training and legal presentations.


His significant contributions include:


  • Extensive products liability defense experience including representation of an international manufacturer of over the road buses in suits involving hundreds of plaintiffs in California and Texas.
  • Investigating serious casualties and working with governmental investigators to enable clients to quickly manage their response and assess their risks.
  • Successfully represented high-volume auto dealership against auto manufacturer regarding franchise agreement disputes and improper termination of the dealer/franchisee. Successfully represented dealer in various venues including arbitration, the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission and bankruptcy court. 


Johnny is past Vice-Chair and Chair of the ABA’s Admiralty and Maritime Law Committee and serves as the chair of the Adams and Reese Recruiting Committee.


In the New Orleans community, he serves as the Chairman of the Jefferson Parish Chamber of Commerce. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Jefferson Class of 2008. Johnny serves on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeast Louisiana.


In his free time, he enjoys New Orleans Saints football, LSU sports and playing golf.
