Philip “Phil” Bergeron joined Adams and Reese in 1980 after clerking for them in 1979 and passing the bar exam. He is currently part of the Special Services Business Group and has served as the Group Leader for the Health Industry and Professional Liability Practice Groups and the Administrative Law team at the firm.
Phil’s practice focuses on state administrative and regulatory law, healthcare law, professional liability and state legislative issues. Phil provides general and regulatory advice to individuals, groups and a number of agencies. He has also been appointed Vice-Chair of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s section on Administrative Law.
Since 2011, Phil has been ranked in Best Lawyers® in Health Care Law, and in 2010-2013, he was featured among New Orleans' Top Lawyers by New Orleans Magazine.
Phil’s other significant contributions include:
- Lecturing on administrative, regulatory healthcare and legislative issues at state and national forums, including the Federation of State Medical Boards of the United States’ Annual Attorney Conferences and Board Attorney Workshops and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
- Providing extensive knowledge and a broad array of experience in healthcare, administrative, regulatory, judicial, legislative and constitutional matters.
Phil devotes part of his time to pro bono work for the underprivileged and formerly served on the board of NOFHA (New Orleans Faith Health Alliance), a nonprofit corporation that offers health care to the working poor. He also enjoys outdoor activities of any kind.
