Scott Delacroix began his career as a trial attorney in 1981 and joined Adams and Reese in 1985. He is a Senior Trial Lawyer and also serves as a member of the firm's Governmental Relations team. He focuses his practice in the areas of complex and class action litigation, products liability litigation and maritime litigation. He has tried cases in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana.
Scott has acted as lead liaison counsel for defendants in major class action cases, complex litigation and mass tort consolidated cases over the past 20 years. He has represented companies in national and statewide class actions including Philip Morris, Shell Oil, Sturm Ruger, Smith & Wesson, Zimmer, Osmose Chemical and several landfill operators.
His other significant contributions include:
- Having key insight into the importance of client relations after being brought in for a three-day-per-week assignment to assist Shell Oil. He acted as in-house Senior Trial Counsel overseeing a nationwide case docket for nearly 18 months.
- Handling matters before the LDEQ, including providing testimony and handling presentations to the Louisiana Legislative Committees.
- Handling of media, legislative and legal matters following Hurricane Katrina to successfully keep the City of New Orleans Gentilly Landfill in operation.
Scott is admitted to practice in all courts in Louisiana, the United States District Courts for the eastern, middle and western districts of Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
In his free time, Scott enjoys family time, fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities.
