Adams and Reese Partners Kirk Gasperecz, Chris Kane and Frank Liantonio were named among the New Orleans CityBusiness Leadership in Law 2012 honorees, recognizing 50 legal professionals who have helped move the legal community forward with energy, innovative ideas, achievements and a commitment to excellence. They were featured in a special insert profiling all the honorees in the March 23rd issue of CityBusiness.
Leadership in Law is in its eighth year, recognized court-associated attorneys, in-house counsel and firm-associated attorneys. Honorees received their awards at a cocktail reception on March 20th at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
Gasperecz serves as the Partner in Charge of the Adams and Reese New Orleans office. He is an experienced tort and commercial litigator in state and federal courts and his practice includes Tort, Products Liability, Construction and Insurance law. Gasperecz is ranked by Best Lawyers® in Insurance Law and Louisiana Super Lawyers® in Environmental Litigation. Gasperecz was recently selected a member of the Leadership Louisiana Class of 2012.
Kane practices in the areas of transportation and economic development, engaging regularly in the international and trade community of New Orleans. Kane is currently assisting clients in economic development projects totaling more than $150 million and ranging from port infrastructure to industrial, retail, restaurant and residential developments throughout the city of New Orleans. Kane was recently re-elected Board President of the Algiers Economic Development Foundation. Kane has served as President since 2009.
In the community, Kane has been involved in various recovery legal issues since the 2005 hurricanes. He co-founded a not-for-profit corporation designed to specifically assist small business recovery called Desire NOLA, which has been nominated for numerous service awards and has been recognized by many respected community leaders. During his leadership tenure, Desire NOLA contributed to over $1 million in economic impact in the New Orleans region. Kane is on the Board of Directors of the Young Leadership Council, Trade Building Capacity Institute and the World Trade Center. He was selected into the 2011-2012 class of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute (NORLI).
Liantonio is a litigator and business advisor in all aspects of the energy, marine and environmental litigation practices of the firm. He has extensive experience in the maritime field, including work as a marine surveyor. He has handled a wide range of energy and marine claims involving collisions, towage, oil pollution, salvage, personal injury, pipeline casualties, oilfield environmental contamination, drilling and completion, reservoir damage and other similar claims.
In the community, Liantonio is the President of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure New Orleans and led the Adams and Reese New Orleans office in raising $8,500, more than double last year’s total, in its annual “Pink Day” efforts to collect money for breast cancer research. Liantonio was named President in 2010 has served as the Race for the Cure Co-Chair since 2007. Liantonio is also an alumnus of Leadership Louisiana.
