Adams and Reese attorney Ann Huckstep, in the firm’s Birmingham office, was featured in her alma mater Vanderbilt University Law School’s magazine, Vanderbilt Lawyer, in an article on “Law Firm Leaders,” in which CEOs, managing partners, partners in charge and practice leaders discussed the challenges of leadership in law firms.
Huckstep received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 1978.
Huckstep joined Adams and Reese in 2003 when she helped guide the merger between Lange Simpson, where she had spent her career, and Adams and Reese. She serves as a member of the firm’s Health Care, Real Estate, Corporate/Securities/Mergers and Acquisitions and Economic Development teams. Huckstep was a point person in the firm’s expansion of the Nashville and Memphis markets and was instrumental in heading up the development of the firm’s health care practice. Huckstep has also served as the Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee and as the Partner in Charge of the Birmingham office.
In the article, Huckstep said, “In a law firm, your assets go down the elevator each evening. To be successful, you have to keep people engaged, happy, and in the practice of law.”
For more than 25 years, Huckstep has guided companies in cutting-edge issues in health care, real estate and corporate law. Huckstep has been listed in Best Lawyers® in Health Care Law, Mergers & Acquisitions Law since 2005 and also in Alabama Super Lawyers® in 2009 and 2010.
