Adams and Reese Diversity Committee Chair Jaimmé Collins Receives The Glass Ceiling Award


Adams and Reese Diversity Committee Chair and Partner Jaimmé Collins received The Glass Ceiling Award from the National Diversity Council at the Second Annual Louisiana Diversity and Leadership Conference, held August 15th at Delgado Community College’s Student Life Center.

The NDC and the Louisiana Diversity Council recognized eight honorees for their diversity efforts in the workplace and those who have not only achieved personal success, but who have also made it possible for other women to more easily follow in their footsteps.

At Adams and Reese, Collins focuses her practice in the areas of commercial litigation and general business. She was named among the “Women of the Year” award from New Orleans CityBusiness in 2011, and she received the Karl Connor Award from the A.P. Tureaud Chapter of the Black Law Students Association at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

Collins is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She is also a member of the Young Leadership Council (YLC), where she has served as an Executive Officer and Board Member. She is also a member of the Louisiana Association of Black Women Attorneys, The Greater New Orleans Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, and a board member of the Children's Bureau of New Orleans. Prior to her becoming a lawyer, she worked in the Clinton Administration in the Office of Political Affairs. She later moved back home to New Orleans to work for United States Senator Mary Landrieu.

Within the practice of law, Adams and Reese is a pioneer in the development and expansion of diversity and has received several accolades for its diversity efforts.

In 2013, Adams and Reese received the “Law Firm Diversity Award” from the National Bar Association at the annual NBA Corporate Law Section Convention. Adams and Reese ranks among the Top 200 Law Firms in diversity among its attorneys according to the 2012 “Diversity Scorecard”, an annual ranking compiled by the Minority Law Journal. The firm has also been named one of the Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity by MultiCultural Law magazine; and recognized in Women 3.0 magazine among the Top 100 Law Firms for Women.
Adams and Reese is also a recipient of the following diversity awards: “Unity Award” by Sarasota’s Biz941 Magazine; “Corporate Counsel Women of Color® Diversity Award of Excellence”; “Certificate of Commendation” from the Louisiana State Bar Association; “Encouraging Diversity” Minority Business Award from the Birmingham Business Journal; and the International Paper “Lighthouse Award” for the firm’s diversity initiatives and fostering diversity in the legal profession.
