Adams and Reese Partner Phil Buffington, Jr. has been appointed Vice Chair of Membership for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Committee. The IADC ADR Committee serves all members who use mediation and arbitration to resolve disputes, or who have become mediators or arbitrators in their own practices. The Committee publishes newsletters and serves as a global resource for international members, corporate counsel and insurance executives to offer expertise when negotiating and drafting ADR provisions and on the effective use of ADR.

At Adams and Reese, Buffington serves as Partner in Charge of the firm’s Jackson office. He is a member of the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group. Buffington has been practicing law since 1984 and has extensive experience representing financial institutions, including representation in regulatory matters, creditor bankruptcy, corporate, commercial law, mergers and acquisitions and securities law. He also has experience in insurance regulatory law, real estate and nonprofit and charitable organizations. In addition, he is experienced in general commercial litigation - in particular mediation and arbitration - in state and federal courts and federal agencies.
