The law firm of Adams and Reese placed third in the small company category in the 2013 “Corporate Philanthropy Awards,” produced by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, honoring Tampa area companies for their efforts in giving back to the community. The awards luncheon was held Thursday, December 12th, at the A La Carte Pavilion.
This year, 23 companies were named finalists by an independent panel of judges for the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s second Corporate Philanthropy Awards. The awards are designed to spotlight the many corporate-sanctioned giving and volunteer programs that stand out in the Tampa Bay community.
Adams and Reese was placed in the Small Company 1-100 employee division, as classified by number of employees in the firm’s Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa offices. Adams and Reese placed first in the same category last year.
The Adams and Reese employee volunteer program, HUGS (Hope, Understanding, Giving and Support), donates time and financial resources to nearly 100 organizations throughout the firm’s regional footprint. This year, HUGS celebrated its 25th anniversary of corporate philanthropy work. Adams and Reese attorneys are also required to perform at least 20 hours of pro bono work per year.
Bayshore Title was ranked No. 1 in the small company category this year. Florida Blue won the medium-sized category, and Raymond James Financial Inc. won the large company category.
