The Adams and Reese New Orleans office raised $3,500, the equivalent of more than four chemotherapy treatments, for the father of a Pearl River, Louisiana family – the Pullens – whose Lemonade 4 Life campaign story has been circulated around the state of Louisiana.
The daughters - 12-year-old Katie and 9-year-old Whitney Pullens - organized a lemonade stand with the goal to pay for chemo treatments for their father Dewayne Pullens. The treatments cost more than $800 every six weeks, on top of the travel expenses to get the treatments at M.D. Anderson in Texas.
The girls raised $600 in their first weekend of lemonade sales and they're hoping to do better with the creation of a Facebook page and theme for their effort, Lemonade 4 Life - www.facebook.com/lemonade4life
Adams and Reese raised the money through a dress down day and lemonade and cookies luncheon event where attorneys and staff donated money to the cause.
The girls plan to continue their lemonade stand in front of their grandparents' home on Josephine Street in Pearl River every weekend.
