The Adams and Reese Sarasota office collected school supplies and raised money through a dress down day to support the organization, Every Child, Inc., which purchases school backpacks to fill with donated school supplies for children in the community.
Every Child, Inc. was chosen to be a recipient of the HUGS (hope, understanding, giving, support) program sponsored by Adams and Reese, which for 25, years has devoted financial resources and thousands of volunteer hours to more than 200 community service organizations nationwide.
Every Child, Inc., was founded in 1997 by Judy Alexander and Dee Webber when they realized there were many children who were unable to start school with all the right school supplies. That summer Dee, a teacher at Booker Elementary, and Judy, who did her doctoral training in Early Childhood Education, achieved the unbelievable task of raising funds and volunteer support to provide a backpack filled with supplies for every student from Kindergarten to 8th grade living in public housing in Sarasota County, Florida.
