Adams and Reese attorneys and Defense Research Institute members Paige Sensenbrenner, Glen Pilie and Michelle Craig helped successfully represent Exxon Mobil Corporation in the case, Naomi Guzman v. Exxon Mobil Corporation, et al., and the judgment and photos of the three DRI members were featured in the October 9th edition of DRI’s “The Voice – And The Defense Wins” section of the organization’s web site. Adams and Reese attorneys also assisting on the case included Martin Stern, Valeria Sercovich and Diana Surprenant.

The jury returned a verdict in favor of the defense after a two-week trial. The plaintiff contended that she developed papillary thyroid cancer as a result of exposure to naturally occurring radioactive material in oil field tubulars. This contention was rejected by the jury.
