Elena A. Lovoy will expand the firm’s banking and consumer financial services practice
Adams and Reese is pleased to announce that Elena A. Lovoy has joined the firm as Special Counsel in the Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group in the Birmingham office. Lovoy is a seasoned attorney with more than 25 years of experience in the banking, consumer financial services regulatory compliance, and privacy and information security arenas. Her practice focuses primarily on state and federal regulatory compliance issues facing banks and other financial services companies in creating, maintaining and expanding their consumer lending and servicing operations. She also works with vendors serving the consumer finance industry. Lovoy also assists companies in preparing for and responding to regulatory examinations and data breaches.
Lovoy is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Louisiana and Illinois. She is also certified by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics as a Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as an Information Privacy Professional/United States and Canada (CIPP/U.S. and C) and by the Association of Certified Anti-Money-Laundering Specialists as an Anti-Money-Laundering Specialist (CAMS). She is a frequent industry speaker and writer on consumer financial services regulatory compliance topics.
In 2015, Lovoy was honored with the L. Burton Barnes, III Public Service Award given by the Birmingham Bar Association. The award recognized her dedication and public service to the Head Start program offered by the Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity. Lovoy began volunteering with the Head Start program in 2007. In 2012, she was recognized by Birmingham Magazine as a “Top Attorney” in Consumer Law.
Lovoy received her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. She also holds an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama, Manderson Graduate School of Business, and a B.S. in Corporate Finance and Investment Management from the University of Alabama.
